What’s a chatbot, and why should we care that businesses are increasingly using them to augment their customer service operations? They provide a glimpse of what the future of automation may look like. While their introduction has met with mixed success, there’s no question we’re going to interact with more of them before long (in fact, I ended up engaging with one of them online without realizing it the other day before being transferred to a real actual human).
